Characters
from Todd Hunt's "Communication Bleeps and Blunders in
Business"
"I
hope you're in an airplane when you say that!"
Miss
Reiser,
junior high English teacher
When
Todd Hunt gave a presentation in school, he reported that Chicago has
over two million people. Miss Reiser pointed out that, since he was not
in an airplane at the time, he should have said "more than two million
people."
It's one of the eight words most abused in the English
language ... and Todd has hilarious stories for all seven others. Because
you never know when Miss Reiser may be listening.
"To
disconnect, press one. Or simply hang up!"
The
Voice Mail Lady
(no known name)
When
voice mail came out, nobody knew how to use it. Today, there's no mystery -- it
beeps, you talk. Yet it's amazing how much time is wasted communicating
through this technological marvel.
Todd Hunt's re-enactments of voice mail greetings will
have you in fits of laughter. And you'll probably drive straight back
to your office and re-record yours.
"Do
you have any of that prepared monoacetiacacidester of salieylicacid?"
Herman
drug store customer
Poor
Herman couldn't think of the word aspirin. Fortunately, the druggist figured
out what he wanted.
Let's improve the clarity
and effectiveness of our communication. Not like Herman.
